A feed with a memory
Infinite feeds are everywhere, and they all share a secret: they don't remember you. They remember a profile of you — a bundle of scores a recommendation model keeps in order to predict the next thing that holds your attention. Scroll past a card and, as far as the record is concerned, it never happened. The feed optimizes for the next second, because the next second is all it keeps.
Swapp is built the other way around. Underneath the feed is a data layer for behavior — think of it the way payments run on Stripe: a permanent, queryable record of what actually happened. Every card you play, every page you read, every answer you give lands there as a durable statement and stays. The feed on top isn't the product; it's the newest surface on a record that outlives it.
That inversion is why the cards can genuinely know you. "Knowing you" isn't a vibe here — it's your own history, computed. The feed personalizes from what you've actually done, difficulty comes from how everyone actually performed, and your progress is a number with a paper trail rather than a feeling the app sells back to you. A feed that forgets can flatter you; only a feed with a memory can be honest.
It's also why nothing you do is wasted. Play as a guest and it still counts; sign up later and your whole history merges in, because the record never forgot which device was you.
